The Rockery was first drawn up in 1994 and in 1996 the first loads of stone were carted off the farm into Robert's nice sloping green front paddock. 160 tonne of rocks later Robert was quoted to saying 'it looked a lot smaller on graph paper!' but thanks to the stone now a larger range of plants can be grown as the stone holds the heat and help protect delicate alpines from frost.
The Rockery has year long interest. In the winter the moss and lichens come into their own, the spring brings the purple and pink of Aubrietia and in summer the Sedums and succulents flower profusely.
